On 24th January 2025, representatives from colleges across Mizoram gathered at Vanapa Hall, Aizawl, for a transformative Leadership Development Training and Capacity Building Program under the Local Immersion Programme for Higher Educational Institutes. Our college proudly participated with two representatives among the attendees.

The program unfolded with a well-structured sequence of events and modules aimed at equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to bring positive change to local communities:

1. Opening Remarks – Dr. Lalrinchhana, Principal Adviser cum Additional Secretary, Planning & Programme Implementation Department.

2. Speech – Dr. Lalthansangi Fanai, Director, Higher & Technical Education Department.

3. Keynote Address – Vanlaldina Fanai, Chief Guest.

4. Village Selection Session – Participating colleges selected villages for the upcoming Local Immersion Programme.

The program also included seven impactful modules, led by experts in their fields:

Module 1: Introduction to Sustainable Development Goals by Pi B. Vanlalruati, Economist cum Under Secretary, Planning & Programme Implementation Department.

Module 2: Leadership Skills by Dr. Ruatdiki Hmar, Assistant Professor, Govt. Kamalanagar College.

Module 3: Data Gathering and Strategies by Dr. Ruatdiki Hmar.

Module 4: Problem Identification and Solution Crafting by Dr. Ruatdiki Hmar.

Module 5: Introducing Available Technologies led by the Directorate of Science & Technology.

Module 6: Scope of Biotechnology in Increasing Livelihood Prospects led by the Directorate of Science & Technology.

Module 7: Issues in Climate Change in Relation to Livelihood and Solutions led by the Directorate of Science & Technology.

The day concluded with an engaging Q&A session and Concluding Remarks by Pi Chingthanmawi Guite, Adviser cum Joint Secretary, Planning & Programme Implementation Department.

This program has truly inspired and empowered participants to take meaningful actions in their communities. We are grateful to the organizers for this wonderful initiative.
